Xiaomi has begun to tease the Redmi K70 Extreme Edition as the next performance king, claiming that it will rival the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G in terms of features.
In preparation for the launch of the Redmi K70 Ultra, also referred to as the Redmi K70 Extreme Edition, Xiaomi has begun preparing. The device is expected to arrive next month, ahead of recent leaks, and will match the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G in a critical area where most Redmi smartphones fall short.
Though there hasn’t been any official confirmation that the Redmi K70 Ultra or Redmi K70 Extreme Edition exists, rumors about the device have been going around for a while. In summary, different device specifications and the prospect of a summer 2024 release have already been mentioned. According to additional leaks, the Redmi K70 Ultra is expected to launch outside of China as the Xiaomi 13T Pro’s (currently available on Amazon for $598) replacement, in line with earlier Xiaomi T series smartphones.
In keeping with that, a Xiaomi official posted the first teaser for the Redmi K70 Ultra on Chinese social media. In particular, the Redmi General Manager and the Deputy General Manager of Xiaomi China’s Marketing Department have confirmed that the Redmi K70 Ultra is almost here, but they haven’t said when exactly. Note that “Redmi K70 Extreme Edition” is another translation for “Redmi K70 Ultra.”
The Redmi K70 Ultra will go on sale with IP68 dust and water resistance, which is still the standard for high-end smartphones, as seen in the pictures below. By the way, Xiaomi didn’t add IP68 certification to its Redmi lineup until the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G was released last year. The same executive, in somewhat of a predictable move, calls the Redmi K70 Ultra a “performance king,” adding that it is also a “cost-effective king” that offers a “versatile flagship experience.” It is likely that within the next few weeks, Xiaomi will start to seriously tease the Redmi K70 Ultra.
